“I leave him in your hands.”
“And what perfect hands they are, too,” Niko said.
Travis didn’t have it in him to roll his eyes at this one and simply took one of those perfect hands in his to hold it close. Josephine, he noticed, smiled at this, her fingers grazing that scar on her neck.
“I’ll be by to check on you,” she said as she made her way down from the loft to let herself out. “Try to stay out of trouble, boys.”
With those parting words, Josephine left, and Travis once again found himself alone with Niko. When he looked back at him, Niko picked up the saucer holding his cup of coffee and biscuits. He handed them over to Travis.
“Are you sharing your biscuits with me?”
Niko plucked the biscuit with the bite out of it off the saucer and took that one back.
“I am capable of sharing, human.”
