Wars are fought on many fronts. A battle is raging across New Colorado Protectorate with both human and demonic players. Todd and Nick Ruger are sentries with an arsenal of talents and training to combat threats from a variety of enemies. Todd and Nick are given a mission to find and stop weapons smugglers by going undercover on the riverboat, Annabelle. These aren't typical arms dealers, they're demons and they're not afraid of a pair of sentries. The Rugers will have to use all their skills and their most powerful weapon, the bond between them, just to stay alive. Stopping the supply of illegal weapons turns to trying, and failing, to thwart an assassination. Todd and Nick have each other, but will they be able to keep their love intact?

“I just want the bastard dead,” Nick snapped.


Heidi twisted around and eyed Nick suspiciously. She drummed her fingers against her hips. “What did he do to you?”


Todd turned and leaned close enough to slip his arm around Nick’s shoulders. Giving a quick squeeze, he slid his hand gently down Nick’s back. Nick swallowed and looked around the room to avoid eye contact with Heidi. He put a hand behind his back, seeking out Todd’s hand where it was resting on Nick’s belt.


“Were you aware that pyrahni become demons after they die?” Todd asked. His fingers curled around Nick’s, making Nick instantly relax.


“I’ve been hunting demons since before your fatherknew which end of a gun to shoot out of. Of courseI know that. Just because you’re John Ruger’s kid doesn’t mean you can sass me.”
