“There’s nothing to stop me going, but I can’t drive, so that might be a problem.” Dustin has never had a driver’s license. He never took his test, because of his visions. He always knew there was a risk that he could have one while driving and end up crashing. He doesn’t want to risk killing himself or anyone else.
“I can drive you, seeing as we’re working together.” Once again Ronan sounds reluctant.
Dustin has a feeling that Ronan isn’t going to be the easiest person to work with.
“That’s decided then. Ronan has copies of all the files you need. Let’s get you out of here and send you two on your way. If these women are alive, we need to work quickly.” Detective Hicks stands up, clearly ready to be on the move.
Dustin thinks she’d probably be easier to work with than Ronan. She seems nicer, more open. But Dustin doesn’t get to choose who he works with. He’s lucky to have been let on the case.
