Chapter 66

The first thing Dustin notices is how pale she is, probably because she’s been drained of her blood. Her blonde hair is a tangled, unwashed mess, her nails are badly broken and dirty, and she has smears of dirt all over.

“I’m going to look at the trash can, see if anything else was left behind. Can I have a copy of the security footage? Send it to Harry?” Ronan says to Chris.

“I’ll have it to you by noon. Um, I don’t know how this psychic thing works,” Chris says, looking at Dustin. He seems skeptical as he gives Dustin a once-over. He can’t see much with the huge coat Dustin has on, but his boots are showing, and his hair peeks out under his hat. Dustin knows, at this crime scene, he’s the one thing that looks out of place.

“Can I have some latex gloves? I need to touch the body,” Dustin tells Chris.

“I’ll be close, holler if you need help,” Ronan says, heading toward where the body was dumped.

“Here are some gloves.” Chris hands Dustin the gloves.
