Chapter 67

“I saw her last moments. It was like I was with her when she died,” Dustin says softly, looking back at Charlotte on the ground. She had been so alive once, so vibrant. She fought even when she was weak from blood loss, hunger, and having her spinal fluid tapped.

“Are you okay?” Ronan asks again.

“Not the first death, remember. I’ve seen last moments before. I saw some details though. Through Charlotte’s eyes,” Dustin says, trying to remember every part of his vision.

“What did you see?” Ronan asks.

“Water bottles, he bought a lot of water somewhere, maybe you can find big orders?” Dustin remembers as he looks at the icy bottle in his latex-covered, bloodstained hands.

“I’ll get someone on that,” Chris says.

“She could hear something; it sounded like she was near a road? A highway, a busy highway.” Dustin rubs his forehead, and then curses when he realizes he’s getting blood on it.
