“I was kind of hoping you would dream about me last night,” Karden said with a wink.


Daniel took a sip of coffee in the hopes the cup would cover his blush. “You know I don’t dream when I’m that tired,” he said quietly.


Kar took a tentative bite of his sausage, then raised an eyebrow in appreciation. “Wow, she can cook.” He looked at Daniel with a teasing smile and said, “Promise me you won’t run away with her if I leave you for a few days.” Daniel smiled lightly but noticed something behind the joking tone.


“I got a call from the firm,” Kar said slowly. “They want me to go and check out a small drama that is cooking up in Hong Kong, so I may duck over there while you guys are getting settled.”
