Pale Light

When it gets close to the time they’re all supposed to be meeting, Jayden gives up on his research and gets back in his car. Once again, he uses his phone to get directions, and then he drives to the campus. It’s the middle of the day on a Wednesday, so the place is full of students. Many of them give Jayden curious looks as he walks into reception and tells them he has an appointment.


The professor’s name is Richard Blum, and Jayden is told he’s expected and where he can find him. Jayden clips the visitor badge they give him to the front of his jacket and follows the directions he was given to the classroom. It feels weird to be back in a school. It’s been a long time since he was a student. These days, the only reason he’s in school is because a teacher has turned into a vampire or something.


When Jayden reaches the classroom, Elijah and Chogan are already there. They look a little awkward and out of place, each leaning against a desk, facing the man Jayden assumes is Blum.
