Elijah has been hunting supernatural creatures his whole life often alongside his father Joshua, who trained him from birth. “What buildings are supposed to be haunted?” Elijah asks.


“The courthouse, the library, a few of the bigger houses on the edge of town,” Ricky replies.


“We’ll have to visit those,” Eli says thoughtfully. Jayden wonders if Eli really thinks it could be a ghost, or if he’s just playing his part as the curious reporter.


“What sorts of things have happened in these places?” Chogan asks.


“Cold spots, things moving around by themselves. People have seen figures and then got closer only to find nothing was there. Usually they see women. It was mainly older women that were killed. It’s hard to believe now, but many of them were things such as midwives. At the time, a woman involved in medicine was so taboo they were often labeled witches.”
