But he’s not afraid. When he looks at Jayden, he sees what Eli described: a kind, sweet guy, someone who is capable of violence, but doesn’t revel in it.
“Hey, I was jealous of those women flirting with you, and Eli’s told me you don’t even like girls. So imagine how stupid I feel. You can admit to liking me. You can admit to being a little jealous,” Chogan says softly.
“I wanted to hate you,” Jayden says, sounding frustrated.
“I know that feeling. I wanted to hate you too. But so far, I’ve had no reason to beyond petty jealousy,” Chogan replies.
Jayden sighs. “We should get back to the bar.”
“I just…I feel like this after a day.” Chogan tries to smile. “It’s only going to get worse. Are you sure you’re not really an asshole? Because that would really help me out.”
