“Jayden’s a good guy. The women at the bar were all over him.” Chogan has a relatively good poker face when he puts his mind to it, so he hopes his confusion doesn’t show on his face. A night’s rest hasn’t led to any revelations about his attraction to Jayden.
“They always are. I’m glad you like him. I was worried. You’re my friend, and he’s important to me. I didn’t want you to hate each other. So many people judge him just because he’s a werewolf.” Eli sighs, and he looks kind of sad.
Chogan could hold his tongue, but he’s not one to dance around things that bother him. He’s been holding back when it comes to Elijah for a while, a long time for him, and he doesn’t like it. Chogan tries to keep as few secrets as possible. It bothers him enough that he’s keeping the fact he’s a witch from Elijah.
“He’s important to you. I can see that. I see more than I think you want me to,” Chogan says softly.
Eli frowns. “What do you mean?”
