“You are wonderful. I love you.”

“I love you too,” said Kelwyn, feeling a warm glow of contentment.

Then Harun chuckled. “You are about to have one problem, though.” He climbed back from Kelwyn and grinned down at him. “You are entirely on your own blankets. So you’re going to have to sleep in the wet spot.”

Kelwyn laughed. “Worth it,” he said, and he more than meant it.12

“I really like this one.” Kelwyn looked around the parlor of the empty house, where the seller had left them alone for a moment. He and Harun had been house-hunting since their official retirement from the Queen’s Own. The Eternal Queen had readily granted their request, though she had also reminded them both, warmly, that once one of her Own, always one of her Own, and though she would be happy to let them retire to be together, she considered them both to be her dear friends still.
