“Tomorrow we meet at noon for the first tracking test,” Elaine said after the elders had taken their leave.

For once, Josh was looking forward to getting outside. He could deal with the bugs and weather if it meant he didn’t have to spend another brain-numbing hour sitting in a chair listening to the glory of the Silverbane pack.

While Elaine was busy arguing with Bryce about one of his answers that the elders had deemed incomplete, Josh saw his chance for a quick exit.

“I didn’t think there were any records kept on omegas,” Orin said to Shawna as Josh passed by him unnoticed.

“Me neither.” Shawna rocked the infant in her arms.

“I think Maureen is a pretty name.”
