“Of course, the leader of the pack should be a natural born Silverbane.” Bryce’s voice rose above the din.

Josh saw the males eager to claim the pack drawing closer. His skin itched with the tension that was building.

“Loyalty isn’t about the blood in your veins.” Tyrone broke his usual silence as he joined the group.

“What do you know of pack loyalty, rogue?” Matthew’s condescending voice brought all other conversations to a halt.

“I know loyalty,” Tyrone said, his upper lip curling to reveal white teeth. “Silverbane had my complete loyalty and at least I can back it up with action. You’re old enough to be an elder. How are you going to protect the family from a territory challenge, or from those blood suckers claiming all of New England? Take a chair, old man.”
