The scribbled note on the napkin was from Andrea. In her casual way, she wrote that she hadn’t found anything and had returned to her Amazon duties. There was no apology for getting him lost, much less any concern for his safety. There wasn’t even any way for him to reach her if he needed her. Just as suddenly as she had arrived, Andrea had vanished, and Josh was getting the impression that wasn’t uncommon for her.


After spending an hour in the woods following her mother, Andrea was ready to call an exorcist. The woman just wouldn’t leave her alone and, worse, she’d made her lose track of Josh.
