Chapter 26

“Let’s take a walk around the park. Then I’ll take you to my favorite restaurant besides Neptune’s. It’s a little more clique-y, but I think you’ll like it.”

Renée kissed her. “Sounds good.”

And Jenny managed to forget her being-stalked feeling.11

The following Friday night, Jenny fell into bed, exhausted. She’d been reassigned, so she didn’t see Renée during the day, except at lunch. Although, they always met in the garage at the end of their shifts.

And came back here to make dinner and enjoy each other.

Jenny was starting to have ideas about their future, but she wasn’t sure when or if she should share them with Renée. After all, Renée had been reluctant to get back together with her in the first place. Even though she seemed easy in her mind on that score, Jenny still had lingering doubts.
