Mark was quiet after everyone left. Reggie headed for the outside door. “I told you that you could use the inside door. I trust you,” Mark whispered.

Reggie looked embarrassed. “I was going out to lock the gate. When this is over, I won’t be such a stickler about it, but with things as they are, we have to be careful.”

“Could you come back inside through the other door? I…uh…don’t want to be alone right now.” Mark hung his head.

“Why don’t you come up with me? I’ll make some herbal tea. It might help to calm you down. Bring your work clothes. You can take a shower and we’ll leave from upstairs. That way if anyone is watching us, they won’t think you live alone.”

“Okay.” Mark agreed.

Reggie went to the back door. “I’ll let myself out. Lock the door behind me. I’ll see you in a bit.”

Mark gathered his work things, went upstairs and unlocked the door.
