Chapter 23

“That’s the one, Uncle Mark, from the story. Papa read it to me.”

The whole table laughed. Kitty had three Easter baskets, several stuffed animals, and three chocolate bunnies.

Mark turned to Edith. “I don’t envy you your job for the next week. Kitty is going to be on a constant sugar high.”

“Just because she has it doesn’t mean she has to eat it all at once.” Edith laughed.

Zach gave a heartfelt, “Good thinking.”

“What did the Easter Bunny get Kitty-kat from her Daddy and Papa?”

“I got a big box with a swing set and playhouse in it, just like Caroline’s.”

“Where are Gloria, Caroline and Alan today?” Reggie asked.

“They went to Alan’s family for Passover and Vince is with Sandy’s folks in Colts Neck,” Zach answered. “They spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with us. Next year we’ll change it around although we’ll always have Caroline’s family for Christmas because Alan’s folks are Jewish.”
