Chapter 28

“Don’t turn. I’ll get up.”

“No, you won’t. Besides, you’re attached to an IV.”

“Which has wheels. I can wheel the pole the six feet between the beds, and the doctor said I could sit up.”

Deb Conti, the private nurse who took care of Kitty, walked into the room. “The doctor says you can sit up if you’re helped to the chair and back to the bed. We don’t want any more falls. You’re bruised from the last one down the side of your leg.”

“Deb, it’s not that I’m not happy to see you, but what are you doing here?” Reggie asked.

She pointed to Bobby. “He called. He said he wanted a private nurse to see to you two miscreants. From what he told me, you both plan to be challenging patients. You, Mr. Mitchell, are pulling on your stitches and you Mr. Randall need assistance to get out of bed, especially after taking a sleeping pill last night.”

“What time is it anyway?” Reggie asked.
