Chapter 25

“I know what you’ve always thought about Xander,” Eddie said. “I know how you always idolized him. But seriously, you never knew Xander the way I did. The way I do. I know he looks like a nice guy on the outside, but if you let him talk you into going to New York, you’re going to find yourself stranded there. That’s what he does. He leaves when you most need him.”

“He leaves?” Aaron crossed the room and sat on the other end of the couch. “Are you upset because he moved to New York and left you behind?”

“Now? No. When he left? Hell, yeah.” It didn’t take a genius to see the direction Eddie was trying now, but Aaron didn’t want to stop him. “But that’s what I mean. We made all these plans. Shit you never heard about. And he left anyway. He didn’t even give me a choice. He didn’t care that I’d put all my trust in him. All he cared about was his needs, what he wanted.”
