They held hands in the car as Andrea drove back to Liz’s house, not talking, just being. Andrea thought it was sweet, and kind of exciting. Once they arrived, car in park and turned off, Andrea turned to say something to Liz. Something that promptly fell out of her head when Liz was suddenly kissing her. It was a quick kiss, leaving Andrea wanting more even while she felt the need to pinch herself to be sure it was real.
“Gabe’s waiting to give me the third degree about our date, so um, I mean, I’d invite you in, but,”
“No, it’s okay. I…uh, I should probably be heading home anyway.”
Liz nodded, looking a little disappointed, but resigned, before she suddenly perked up and nearly bounced in her seat. “I nearly forgot! Luc was terribly sad about not being able to go with us tonight, so I told him I’d see if you were free tomorrow afternoon for something. Maybe lunch and board games, or a short afternoon hike or something?”
