“Okay, both of you, take deep breaths,” Sage said.

“We don’t breathe,” Brody retorted. He started to smile, slowly at first. “We don’t breathe. We don’t eat. We don’t take up any space. We’re the perfect house guests.” By the time he finished, he was grinning broadly.

Jon snickered, then started laughing. “He’s…got a…point, Sage,” he sputtered, slapping Brody’s back. “If he sticks around, we can, hell, travel the world. See everything neither of us has. Right? Free transportation. Free hotel rooms.”

“Paris,” Brody said. “I’ve always wanted to go there.”

“Italy. London, Sydney. You name it.”

Sage sighed wistfully. “Sounds nice.”

Jon nodded. “It does. You could do it too. Maybe not for free, but you can. All you have to do is convince Mike to take some time off.”

“What’s he got to do with it?” Sage asked.
