Chapter 11

Satisfied with the results of the detailed meeting, Cookie gathers her paperwork and begins to close the event. She hurriedly says, “I think that covers everything. What do you two swans think?”

Sandy stands and pulls a pink wedding invitation out of the front pocket of his chinos, unfolds the thick paper, and places it in front of Cookie. He sits down and curtly says, “I think this is an atrocity on your part. Our invite should be gold on white if I recall correctly. Do you want to explain to us why it’s pink when we’ve paid you a fortune to have them printed gold on white? Because I’m dying to know?”

Cookie sniffles and her mouth falls open. “Oh dear. This is a problem. I didn’t know about this.”

A frown forms on Sandy’s face. “It is a problem. A hugeproblem. Now, tell me exactly how many of these horror features went out to my guests?”

“I…I…I’m not sure exactly,” Cookie says, shaking her head. She shuffles papers in front of her, including the invitation.
