“No. Just the Watchers,” Dr. Melloy said patiently. “For myself, I claim witch’s right and the same right for these boys. Bonnie, it’s me, Kathleen. Can we come in? My house just burned up. All my books…” Her words trailed off then, and she sounded for a moment as if she were forcing back tears.

“Kathy, he’s a werewolf, a long-legged beastie if ever I saw one. My pets aren’t crazy about having him or his boyfriend in the house,” the Keeper said, frowning.

“Witch’s right. He won’t hurt them; he won’t even change here. The other is a gods’ spawn. Witch’s right.”
