Kathleen smiled wearily. “Secret Keepers pass the knowledge down, generation after generation.”

“What about everyone else, the mundanes?” Jamey asked.

“The police and the paramedics are at the church taking care of the carnage that the Watchers left behind. But what has been released cannot be called back, evil or good, and magic will spread from wherever you two have been. It will be slow at first, and then gain momentum.” She closed her eyes for a moment, exhaustion visible in her face. “Maybe we should try and get some rest, if we can.”

Henry was relieved to hear her say yes, but only if the boys came with her, and the animals, of course.
