Chapter 27

Sandy’s fangs grew, but Thaddeus only chuckled, waved the fingers on his left hand which created tiny blue sparks growing into a small wolf running up his arm.

“You’re showing off? For him?” Sandy hadn’t meant to sound so gruff, but was Thaddeus flirting with—The scent in the room changed, and Sandy whirled around in time to see Matthew’s eyes shift color. It only lasted a fraction of a second, but it had been there. His eyes had shone orange. “What the fuck is he?”

“Let me know if you think of anything.” Thaddeus offered his left hand to Matthew.

“Don’t touch him!” Sandy tried intercepting the hands meeting in an awkward shake, but he was too late. He held his breath, waiting for the room to explode or Thaddeus falling to the floor screaming.

Nothing happened.

“Anything at all. Sometimes it’s the small details no one pays attention to that are the most important.” Thaddeus smiled again and let go of Matthew’s hand.
