Chapter 30

“Everything will be fine,” I say. “We’ll talk it through tonight. Come up with a plan. Everything is always better with a plan.”

He drags down another breath, a bit steadier this time. “But I’ll be late.”

“I’ll wait up for you. I promise. But you better go before Marie yells again. That woman is loud!”

“Okay.” He chuckles, but it’s weak and unconvinced.

“Don’t worry, Frankie. Focus on the event, the planning. Visualize the work. What you need to do to make it happen. Think about what the ideal outcome would be for you. How many new orders or consultations or even phone numbers you need to walk away with for it to feel like a success. Then focus on that goal, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. I’ll be here when you resurface tonight.”

Frankie’s silent for a few moments, his breath returning to normal. “Thank you. You have no idea how helpful that was.”

“You’re welcome. Now I’m late for a meeting. See you tonight.”
