“I know,” Seamus said with a sigh. “He was one of a kind.”

“Seamus still hasn’t dated since then,” Susanna said, reaching over and tousling her son’s hair.

“Wait, so you are in some sort of relationship with the Grim Reaper?” Ian asked.

“Not exactly,” Seamus explained. “We had something though, and instead of taking me, he killed my cancer. He said he’s been working with our family for years. He even gave me flowers.”

“Were they dead?” Ian asked.

“Quit teasing your brother,” Susanna said, trying to keep a straight face.

“They were not, thank you,” Seamus answered, trying to suppress his own smile.

“Well, all of this brings me to the idea that your father and I had,” Susanna said. “Start if off, Raferty. I’ll jump in in a minute.”

“Well, we thought that maybe you could contact your friend, Mine. That’s what you call him, right?” Raftery asked.

“Yes,” Seamus said. “If this ever works out though, we might have to think of a different name for him.”
