“You wish to hold me in a circle?” the man thing asked, looking around the circle like a wild animal in a cage.
Ian could tell that the man thing was looking for weak points. It would probably be best to not give him too much time to analyze the situation.
“Who are you?” Ian asked.
The creature did not respond.
“Are you Azrael?” Khnurn asked.
“I am not,” the man thing responded.
The room was silent. Ian wasn’t sure what else to ask it.
“Are you Anubis, the Egyptian god of death?” Seamus asked.
“Do I look like a jackal headed man?” the man thing asked. “I am neither of them.”
“So what is your name?” Ian asked. Earlier Khnurn had told him of an ancient Egyptian spell he knew that was only possible when witches knew the name of the one they were combating.
