“His name’s Asher Dolan,” Troy said.

Beck, who’d just picked up the coffee pot to top off Adam’s coffee, gasped. His hand jerked, spilling some of the brown liquid on the table.

“He’s a relative then?” Troy asked. “Thought there was a family resemblance.”

Beck reached for a roll of paper towel and began to mop up the spill. “Ash’s my younger brother.”

“Want me to say anything to him?” Troy asked.

“Why, what happened?” Adam asked, mouth full of food.

Troy gave Beck a comforting squeeze and shot his friend a butt outlook, which Adam didn’t seem to pick up on.
