“Right.” Troy sighed in relief. But that didn’t answer the question of what was making Beck sick. “What can we try next? Like I told your nurse, he still gets sick to his stomach in the morning, although it usually clears up by about lunchtime. Although he was sick all of Sunday.” Troy began to pace.


It was Dr. Hanssen’s turn to sigh. “I think I should see him again, maybe run some scans. I’m surprised you haven’t scanned him yourself.”


Troy shook his head, even though he knew the doctor couldn’t see it. “I remembered what you said and no way would I want to hurt him.”
