However, Troy grows concerned when Beck starts getting sick to his stomach in the mornings, and what’s with the sudden craving for fish, the smellier the better? Life as SuperTroy is certainly more adventurous than he could ever have imagined.

“Dr. Billings said he did what he could but…” Dr. Hanssen stared at the floor.


Dr. Hanssen raised her head. “Your test results have always come back within the normal range. You don’t have high blood pressure or protein in your urine, two early signs of pre-eclampsia. Having said that, to make extra sure you stay healthy for the rest of your pregnancy, I’m going to ask you to come in for an exam every week until your son is born.”


“Why didn’t you or the medical profession know about the problem with Peter’s pregnancy so you’d be better prepared to help Beck?” Troy asked. “Surely there’s charts or something.”


“Dr. Billings said the CSA seized Peter’s charts when he died.”


“Bastards!” Troy felt his anger rise.


“It’s okay.” Beck petted Troy’s arm.


“No it isn’t. I’m gonna demand some answers when I get into work tomorrow.”


“The members of the CSA who took away Peter’s charts will be long dead I imagine,” Beck pointed out.
