He threw himself on the bed and breathed harshly through the nose. He tried to imagine what Liam felt, thinking that Jasper abandoned him, when he didn’t know about the message…He couldn’t imagine the pain Liam must feel now, living in the reality where Jasper didn’t care about his feelings. No wonder he didn’t want to be found.


What hurt the most was that if he had received the letter, maybe he’d have stayed, maybe they’d be able to work out their issues. It hurt even more because this chance was taken away from Jasper by someone else. He had no control over that. He couldn’t make it better either.


William knew he was no longer welcomed in the flat, but he couldn’t help feeling grateful for the universe letting him keep Liam’s secret a second longer. He didn’t think Jasper would ever be able to deal with the thought that if William hadn’t opened the door at just the right time, Liam would’ve taken his own life on that tragic night.
