“Great! I haven’t been able to spend much time with Ulf since I got back. It’ll be awesome.” He turned away from the door. “Thaddeus, darling!”


Kol turned and took in Elijah’s widened eyes. “That was Sandulf Hunter, he’s a wolf shifter gone ghost.”


“Thaddeus Ezax, you met him before, is a sorcerer and his mate.”


Elijah nodded again, and Kol held his breath for a second. “Ulf’s real name is Ulfgangur Hunter, Sandy and Ric’s brother. Ric, you also met earlier—Wulfric Hunter.”


Elijah shook his head. “I want to go home.”


“I’m sorry. It’s not safe.” And if he went home, he wouldn’t be curled up in Kol’s office chair where he could keep an eye on him.


“It’s not safe here either. There are monsters everywhere.” Kol heard his breathing increase, scented the panic spreading in the room.


“Wait here.” He stepped out of the office and closed the door behind him. “Let’s go into the meeting room, everyone!” 8
