“Don’t fear me.” His voice came out much hoarser than he’d planned. He stretched out half on top on Elijah like he had when he’d been in his other form and buried his nose in the crook of his neck.

Elijah was stiff as a board, and he didn’t speak. Kol didn’t either. He laid there and breathed him in. “You realize the cat and I are the same, right? This is how we’ve been all night.”

Eli cleared his throat. “It’s not the same.”

Kol licked his skin, but instead of getting an eww, a more intense wave of fear spread in the room, and he sighed. “Apparently not. Do you want breakfast? Coffee? Tea?”

Elijah was quiet for several seconds. “Erm…” He turned his head a little and Kol raised his head so they could have eye contact. “You don’t want to fuck me when you’re a cat.”

For a few seconds, Kol was stunned. “Honey, I do, but not in the shape of my cat. I am the same. You can’t read my emotions when I’m shifted, right? But they’re the same.”
