“We do, and I’ll have you know, some are hot.” The one Jules had suggested he’d read without him had him laughing. It was so cliché. A lumberjack and a twink from the city getting it on, but it was entertaining. He had to give Jules that.

“He’s flirting with you?”

“He’s not.”Was he? Nix didn’t think people flirted through books. The guys he got together with asked if he wanted to hook up and suggested a time and place. They didn’t care if he read or not. Well, except Kyle. But it was different with Kyle. He wanted to date Kyle, for real, not for him to be added to his string of one-night stands.

Jules was so stupid. He stared at the message Nix had sent him. He was going on a date with Kyle. He’d typed several replies only to delete them before sending them.

“What are you doing?” Jenny appeared in the doorway to his office.

“Trying to come up with a good, cheerful answer to Nix.”

Jenny pursed her lips and pointed at her watch. “Coffee?”
