When hurried footsteps echoed over the floor, both Nix and Logan turned.
“Hi, Jenny.” Nix smiled, wondering if she was there to shout at him for dragging Jules to a restaurant or not.
“You demand that tea back.”
He stared, trying to make sense of what she was saying. “What?”
“Jules is feeling guilty because you had to pay for his tea.”
“Oh, it doesn’t matter.”
She rolled her eyes. “Yes, it does.”
“No, it was one cup of tea, and he didn’t finish it.”
“So not the point.”
Nix glanced at Logan, trying to make sense of what she was saying. “It’s not?”
“No!” She looked over her shoulder before coming closer. “Look, do you want to meet up with Jules?”
Should he lie? He didn’t know where he stood with Jenny. If he told her his master plan of luring Jules into dating, would she tell? “I guess, but Jules doesn’t date.”
“Not if he thinks it’s a date, no.”
Logan shook his head. “You’re unbelievable.”
“What?” Nix glared at him.
