Officer Lou Hernandez is surprised when he's asked to help Gideon Monahan catch an art forger. He's not too happy, however, when he meets the man he'll be working with. Lou thinks Rory Kinley is a supercilious pain in the ass. Rory, on the other hand, sees no reason why Lou has been brought into this. After all, he's just a cop, albeit one who is good at going undercover.<br><br>The art forger they're after -- Nate Hanks -- cons collectors, saying he has an undiscovered painting by a famous artist. He's killed one of his marks already to keep from being caught.<br><br>Lou and Rory will have to set aside their differences as they set up a sting to stop Hanks. When they do, they discover they may not be as incompatible as they thought. The question becomes, will their growing feelings survive what's to come -- or be destroyed in the process?

It Takes a Forger

“We’re dancing around the fact we’re both gay, when we should be worrying about getting the gallery up and running so we can catch Hanks, if this whole plan works,” Rory said.


“It willwork,” Lou replied, glad to get back to business. “Not tomorrow or next week, but it will work. Once Gideon’s collectors are in the mix and connected to us and the gallery, Hanks should make a move. He’ll either try to stop you—since he’ll see you as competition—or he’ll get in touch with one of the men with his forged Bramer, since he’ll figure they’re willing to buy stolen art.”


“We have to remember to get the forged Carrà from Gideon,” Rory said, adding it to their list. “We don’t know if Hanks has B and E skills, but if he does and he doesn’t find it in my workroom, that will send up a red flag.”


“Exactly. Since I’m going to be the middleman, I’ll…We’llbe sending out invitations for the gallery’s opening. Make a note on that.”
