Chapter 15

Now what? Rory wondered. A change of plans, or has a problem come up we need to deal with?

Either way, he wasn’t certain he wanted to know. By the time he walked into Gideon’s suite, he was tense. When Gideon and Lou looked at him thoughtfully then glanced at each other, he was certain he wasn’t going to like what was going down.

“Lou had an idea about how we could pique Hanks’ interest in the gallery,” Gideon said, once Rory was seated.

“Do I want to know?” Rory asked warily.

“It involves you, so you have the final word on the situation,” Gideon replied. “Tell him what you were thinking, Lou.”

Lou nodded. “I talked with Clay Richardson last night. Among other things, he said he knows someone at the Post and that he could probably get her to do an article on the gallery’s opening.”

“Okay. And?” Rory said.

“So I had this idea. What if, as part of the article, we said my assistant was very knowledgeable about art because he was a reformed art forger?”
