Chapter 8

In a way, there were no reasons for them not to allow him to visit Nate, were there? Even if Zeke couldn’t bring the kid home, he’d be happy enough if he could see Nate. Maybe he’d get information when Nate was allowed to return home.

Zeke slammed himself back on to the mattress and folded his arms behind his head. Finally, he had a plan he’d like to do in this summer, spending it by visiting Nate every day at the hospital. Thank God Zeke didn’t have to be with his mother during the holiday, though he realized it was thanks to her he found out about Nate’s whereabouts. Zeke would thank her first thing in the morning while telling her he was going to drive back to Columbus. With that thought in mind, Zeke drifted to sleep.

Savannah’s eyes went round when Zeke told her he would drive back to Columbus and might stay there for some time.

“Wh—what are you going to do there?”
