Chapter 35

The door burst open yet again. A man in a business suit froze as he caught sight of us.

“What the hell? This is the men’s bathroom—can’t you fairies do this elsewhere?”

Scott wheeled on him, getting right in his face. “This room is occupied, bitch. You need to pee? Go to the ladies room, or cross your fucking legs!”

The man recoiled at Scott’s ferocity, stepping back. He shook his head, turned on his heels, and retreated.

I couldn’t help but grin as Scott looked at me, his face still afire. He burst into a giggle, too. “Come on, Theo. Let’s get you cleaned up and head back before Min comes in here next. You gonna be okay, at least for supper?”

“Yeah,” I said. And I would be. Scott had seen to that, with his unquestioning support. I don’t deserve a friend like him.
