The Price Of A Heart

"Ew, ew, ew, ew!" Amy squinted her eyes to look away from the corpse while Hertwig and Marco separated a tiny sample away for evidence. "This isn't right."

Hertwig exhaled loudly after having the specimen separated and sealed in a bag.

"When I was getting my Ph.D., never in a million years did I think I would be illegally securing a specimen from a corpse," Hertwig said.

"Let's blame it on Nancy," Amy muttered.

Hertwig nodded swiftly. "I'm going to send this for an examination."

Marco raised an eyebrow. "How? This is illegal."

"Do you think I magically got my PhD? Don't you think a prodigy would have connections?" Hertwig smirked. "I need to mail this right away to my forensic friends back in Australia."

"How will you mail such a thing halfway across the world?" Amy asked.
