She said and added.
"You know, Mr. Rivers, I've always admired the kindness and generosity of the Rivers family. It's incredible how much they've done, even when it wasn't always recognized."
Joel's expression hardened for a brief moment, but he quickly forced a smile. "The Rivers family has indeed been… instrumental in many ways," he replied, his tone measured.
Lisa noticed the slight shift in his demeanor and decided to press further. "It must take a lot of selflessness to contribute so much, especially to a company like Andersons Group. Not everyone would do that."
Joel's smile thinned. "Kindness is one way to look at it," he said, his voice cooler now.
"But sometimes, people take advantage of generosity. That's why it's important to ensure the right people are in charge."
Lisa nodded slowly, pretending to accept his response while mentally noting his reaction.
Lisa smiled faintly and said, "I believe you'll lead the company in the best way during Mister Canary's absence at least until he returns."
Joel smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Returns?" he echoed, a hint of mockery in his voice. "No one knows if he'll come back. Not with the way employees are striking against him."
Lisa's expression remained composed, but her mind raced.
His words, laced with confidence and subtle malice, were enough to confirm her growing suspicions.
Joel knew too much about the chaos surrounding Canary, and his smirk only added weight to the possibility that he was involved.
Lisa nodded politely. " That's so true, But who knows if he is innocent?" She asked.
Joel smirked again. " That's up to him to let the world know who he really is. But as for now, You know we can't have such a leader." He says.
" Ooh,.." Lisa nodded.
" You must be busy Mr.Rivers, I will take my leave." She made a low bow and walked out of office.
As she reached the door
her resolve hardened. Joel and Regina were almost certainly behind the incriminating video that had turned the company against Canary. Now, she needed a way to prove it.
After Lisa walked out of his office, Joel leaned back in his chair, still mulling over their conversation.
He was taken aback by how easily she had gotten him to open up. He had expected her to be more formal, more reserved, yet she had spoken to him so casually, almost as if she knew exactly how to navigate his defenses.
He frowned, tapping his fingers on the desk, lost in thought. What is it about this girl? he wondered. Why does she make me feel so… comfortable?
Joel shook his head, trying to brush off the unease settling in his chest.
He couldn't afford to be distracted. Yet, something about Lisa's calm demeanor and probing questions kept gnawing at him.

As soon as Lisa reached her office, she pulled out her phone and dialed Canary's number. When he answered, she didn't waste time.
"Canary, we need to meet. I have something important to discuss," she said, her voice firm but urgent.
After a brief exchange, they agreed to meet at a quiet café. It was the kind of place where no one would recognize them, offering the privacy Lisa needed to share her suspicions.

When she arrived, she chose a secluded corner table, her thoughts swirling with everything she had uncovered.
She glanced at the door, waiting for Canary to arrive, knowing that this meeting could change everything.
Canary entered the café dressed casually, his cape draped over his shoulders to avoid being recognized.
As soon as he spotted Lisa, he made his way over, and they shared a brief but warm hug before sitting down.
Lisa wasted no time. She slid her phone across the table, showing a photo of David whom she didn't know yet but suspected was the key to everything.
"This is the man who must have recorded the video," she said, her tone serious.
"I don't know his name yet, but I'm certain it's him. And it's Regina and Joel working with him."
Canary studied the photo, his brows furrowing as he absorbed the information.
"I knew it had to be Joel behind it," he muttered, a trace of bitterness in his voice.
"But Regina… I didn't expect her to be involved."
Lisa nodded, her suspicions confirmed. "It makes sense. They've been working together, manipulating things behind the scenes. We need to stop them before they tear the company apart."
Canary's eyes darkened, his grip tightening on the table. "We will. But first, we need more evidence."
Lisa agreed, knowing that this was just the beginning of a much bigger fight.
" I will help you as much as I can. But we need to find this man first." She said.
Canary leaned forward, his expression determined. "I'm also going after the accounts that posted the video," he said, his voice low and controlled.
"I found out who released it first and I've started looking into the owner. If we can track them down, it might give us a better idea of who the man in the black suit is, and how deep this goes."
Lisa nodded, impressed by his initiative.
"That could be a breakthrough. If we can connect the dots, we'll have something concrete to confront them with."
Canary's eyes darkened with resolve. "Exactly. But we need to be careful. Whoever's behind this is smart, and they're not going to make it easy for us."
Lisa leaned back, considering the next steps. "We'll be careful, but we need to move quickly. Every day they have control is a day too long."
They exchanged a look, knowing that their fight was just beginning.
After their talk, Lisa and Canary stepped out of the café, the evening air cool against their skin.
As they walked down the quiet street, their hands naturally intertwined, a comforting gesture amidst the chaos they were facing.
Canary squeezed her hand gently, his voice soft but sincere. "Thank you, Lisa. For everything. I don't know what I'd do without your support."
Lisa smiled, her heart warmed by his words. "You don't have to always thank me. We're in this together."
They walked in comfortable silence for a while, the weight of their conversation lingering, but the simple act of being together offering them both a moment of peace.
Eventually, they reached the road side where Lisa had to get a cub from.
She stopped at the entrance, turning to Canary with a smile. "I'll see you soon," she said, squeezing his hand before releasing it.
Canary nodded, his gaze lingering on her for a moment.
"Take care of yourself, Lisa. I'll be right here when you need me."
With a final, affectionate glance, Lisa got a cub feeling a sense of calm in her heart, despite the storm brewing around them.
