Chapter six:
Ja-ni went down to the archives and studied the Dark Temple. She knew the Sith Ghosts were there, but she didn't know what exactly was waiting for her. Traps, monsters, anything could be down there. From reports it seemed that soldiers, slave's, and Sith alike were driven mad by the ghost's. The spirit's of an ancient cult of Emperor Vitate's followers, the Shadow Lord's, were the culprits of the insanity, from what the Council gathered. The only ones who could withstand it were true Sith. Ja-ni wondered what this meant. Did the others not follow the Sith as faithfully? She found a map of the temple, with a giant x marking a no go zone, the Emperor's Sanctum. She took the map, her lightsaber, light battle armor, and headed out. As she stepped out into the rainy jungle she threw up her hood and headed for her speeder bike. She leaped on and kicked it into gear, then jetted down into the jungles, towards the Dark Temple.
The rocky, barren wastelands leading up to the temple reeked with the dark side. Suddenly, she felt something slam her off her speeder bike, and send her barrel rolling into a ditch. She quickly got to her feet and ignited her double bladed red lightsaber, crouching low. Dozens of insane swarmed her. Sith, slave's, soldiers, and beast's all attacked her. You can't kill me! Said Ja-ni and she stood defiantly, saber in hand pointing downward as they charged at her. Then, they stopped and looked at her, their arms outstretched to tackle her, but their heads tilted, as if confused. One hissed then backed down. Ja-ni disengaged her double bladed red lightsaber and clipped it to her belt. Monsters! She declared. Show me your master's! Said Ja-ni. They hissed and clicked and exchanged glances, then ran in a direction... towards the Dark Temple. She followed them as quick as she could, saber in hand. The insane screeched and roared as they darted through the halls of the temple. They seemed to have been reduced to primal instincts to be controlled by the Shadow Lord's. Soon they reached the innermost chamber, the Shadow Council Chambers, where they supposedly covered their meetings and were buried. The insane wouldn't step any further. This was it. The final trial. She took a deep breath, as entered in.
