There's Stardust Everywhere

It was 09:55 in the morning when Sapphire woke up. She looked over and saw that Phoenix was still sleeping and decided to stay quiet while moving out of the room. It was quite cold, so once Sapphire got up, she grabbed her jacket that was on the back of the door.

Walking down the stairs, she could hear small running footsteps. They were her mothers. She peeked inside the living room from the door frame, making sure to keep herself hidden in the shadows. On TV they played the news they always watched at noon together. They told everyone about the progress of ISSAFE, and the current state of the planet, but rarely told the truth in order to keep the population calm. In the end, they never really told them anything that would make everyone revolt. They kept it casual, saying things such as, "ISSAFE is recruiting new members" and other things such as Voyager 5 being sent out.

"Now for the ISSAFE update. We want to congratulate these 6 people for becoming the new and young crew members of the ISSAFE. Here they are!"

With that, 6 photos were placed on the TV. One was Phoenix and the other Sapphire, and 4 more people that Sapphire didn't notice, but Sapphire didn't really care. She studied their faces just to make sure if she saw them in public that she could talk to them and ask them questions about things they might know.

"Oh, I'm so proud of my babies," her mother said, tears seeming to form in her eyes by the way she was talking. Her dad wrapped his arms around her and hugged her as she cried tears of joy, and soon her dad did too.

From the corner, Sapphire could see Phoenix walking down the stairs. Rubbing her eyes, Phoenix stood next to Sapphire and didn't make a noise, as she didn't want her parents to know she was there either.

"Hey, Saph...I wanted to ask you something, come back upstairs." With that, Phoenix returned upstairs, a silent sniff echoing through the hall. Sapphire looked at their parents once more before following her sister quietly. Once she got to her room, she closed the door softly. Phoenix was standing by the Patio, looking outside. "Sapphire, do you think we should tell the other new crew members about Tolia?"

Sapphire stood there, her eyes widening a bit. Phoenix turned around and sighed, looking outside again.

"This planet is dying. Every day. Maybe Tolia can be our new home."

"Well, I'd have no problem telling the new members! I mean, if we were all chosen, maybe they noticed it too."

"We need to find them then."

"As soon as possible. How about now?"

"Alright then, get ready."

And with that, they both showered and put on clothes. They grabbed their phones and shoved them in their pocket, and as Phoenix grabbed her bag, Sapphire went to the file cabinet and took the Tolia files with her. She placed them in her bag and then nodded to Phoenix that she was ready.

They both walked downstairs and greeted their parents, saying that before they want a big celebration they want to celebrate on their own as sisters. Their parents didn't object and let them go. They both knew where they could find the other 4 members. At the new ISSAFE cafe right downtown. They grabbed their bikes and pedaled, not stopping and dodging every person they almost came in contact with.

They soon made it, and to Sapphire's surprise, their instincts were right.

"That's them. All of them. Right there talking..." she said.

"Let's go." They both parked their bikes and went inside.
