Squad Leader/Dome City's Descent

After the personal report was submitted to the Hokage and the village council towards the end of the week, the war took quite some time to break out. Although the villages were ready, they needed an excuse to take the border skirmishes and turn them into an all-out war.

With numerous nations declaring war on one another, troops began to be assigned and allocated which inevitably forced the Aburame Clan Ninjas to move out.

Aburame Mizi, as a newly promoted Jounin, was assigned to lead a three-man strike squad whose job was to move between five different Land of Fire border checkpoints/stations, and ensure that each station was provided support in times of need and that no spies that slipped past the front line of the battlefield were able to make it into the Land of Fire.

The strip of border that Mizi's team was protecting was adjacent to Kusagakure and was near the front lines of Konohagakure and Iwagakure's conflict.

Once Mizi arrived at the first of the five checkpoints she would be watching over, she employed maneuvers that would seem paranoid if not for her vast experience in war-time efforts in a world far away....she knew that the key to fulfilling her job is to ensure there are no blind spots in this stretch of border and there were no spies either...

......

"Captian Mizi, the first checkpoint we were ordered to watch over is just ahead...." the Hyuga assigned to my strike team spoke quickly, veins covering the edge of his eyes while speaking.

"Understood...once we arrive, I will access the checkpoint and then meet up with you two...I will give each of you a beetle so that I can track you....stay close, but take a look around..." I said with authority not fitting my 'apparent' experience or age but the two that have been following me to the border had already gotten used to this.....I've overheard them talking to one another about me being a stern yet reliable captain.

"YES MA'AM!" the two said before bowing...

I walked to the checkpoint which is a wooden tower that housed three people. One chunnin who manned the station and two genins from the genin corp. I silently released a couple dozen of my beetles when approaching, they will monitor this station and examine the belongings of each of these three Konoha ninjas, while meeting the Chunnin.

When I was close to the wooden tower, an Inuzuka Chunnin hoped out of the nearby bushes ready to fight, but I spoke the code phrase quickly which caused him to relax...

"I am the Jounin assigned to oversee this area of the border checkpoints... give me a full report and bring the two genins to the tower so that I can meet them..."

"YES MA'AM!" This guy seemed to be very headstrong but my tone allowed no rebuke and he set off quickly.

Not long after, my insects sent back information that I didn't want to see....' if not for my wartime experience from TFNs, I would have never expected my own allies....' I thought sadly as a rubbed my lower back, trying to find the no-more-existing scar left behind after a literal knife in the back...

......

Aburame Mizi sat on a wooden chair at the top of the tower with the Chunnin Inuzuka and two genins standing at attention nearby. Within her hands she held a scroll reporting on the comings and goings as of late.....she put down the scroll after a bit and walked over to the genin on the right, he was sweating and nervous, as any genin from the corp should be when facing a jounin...

When she came within arm's length of the middle-aged man, the petite girl extended her arm in a gesture of 'lets-shake-hands' and spoke...

"You keep good and detailed notes, Genin, keep up the good work..."

The genin smiled and grasped the Jounin captain's hands but just as he did, his eyes stared at her with vigilance as he felt death approaching....before he could release his grip, his body started to swell and he exploded into bits and pieces...

{Parasitic Kidaichu Technique}

Before anyone could respond, Mizi spoke with a cold tone...

"Spies will not be tolerated amongst my subordinates. He was an Iwagakure spy and just sent a report to his people before coming to this tower...you have been slacking Chunnin..."

Sweat dripped from the Inuzuka's forehead before he stuttered out.."Ma'am, how could he be a spy? I've known h..."

"Are you question me chunnin?... I'm the general of republi.....*cough* *cough*...I'm the Jounin captain and I've already sent a report to the front-line commander who will seize the information before it makes its way back to Iwa.....not that I need to justify myself to you..."

The chunnin quickly straightened his back and responded with quick nods..." So sorry captain, It won't happen again... I'm sorry for my neglect..." he bowed respectfully after his apology but Mizi was already walking away...

"Maintain vigilance Chunnin, I'm heading to the nearby checkpoints to check for more traitors...be safe..."

Although Mizi's personality is not like this, it was a conditioned role left over from being a war-time general of Rebuplic City during its early days...not that pulling rank really works with ninjas, it's all about power here.....strength is truth.

........

Near the base of the tower located at the center of Dome City, many floating platforms above the water now house various venues and shops that have sprung up recently....these are different from the ones in Altissia, as they are manned by the largest and most accomplished guild, The Adventures Guild.

Once 'The Tower' opened within the centermost gravity field which is where one can purchase items, like those from the pavilion in Altissia, from a digital interface that pops up when one climbs to a certain height...the adventures guild took it upon themselves to set up numerous other venues around that location that could make money, provide services, and also protect Travelers who need to approach the tower but are too afraid to because of the Rooks or other "TK" guilds...

This protection is provided, after a fee/tax, of course...
