Had he been alone in his car, Bane would've been on his phone in order to discuss the details of the situation that his pack had alerted him of. They had finally found someone they'd been looking for for quite a while.
It was the kind of conversation he knew that Celeste didn't need to be a part of. The reminder also that his human side needed of why he had to keep her away from him. It wasn't safe for her.
"Um." he glanced over when he heard the little human start to speak. She was fiddling with her hands as she looked down at her lap with a uncertain expression on her face.
"Don't worry, I intend to hold up to the deal we made last night, I won't bother you anymore as long as I'm still able to get my coffee." Bane said assuming that was what she wanted to clear up before they reached her apartment.
"Oh, that's not actually what's on my mind." Celeste replied. She had thought about it briefly but that wasn't what bothered.
"It's actual about um, your curse or I'm not quite sure what to call it." she explained. Glancing over at him in order to make sure that she didn't offend him with the way that she was speaking.
"What is it then?" Bane asked. It wasn't something that he had expected her to bring up, but he wouldn't ignore what questions she had about it since they were in the car and no one else would be able to hear them talk.
"Is it something you control?" Celeste asked bluntly not quite sure how to phrase the question that she wanted to ask any other way.
"I have perfect control over it. It's less something that needs to be controlled and more a part of who I am." The alpha replied as he turned his left blinker on so that he could merge lanes. He knew that he was getting close to the the turn that would take him to before Celeste's apartment.
"It isn't something that you need to worry about as I said before however. I am going to honor the agreement we made since I lost to you and beyond seeing whenever I drop by the coffee shop, I won't bother you." Bane reassured the little human as he made the last turn that he knew was right before she would want to get out.
Driving a little further down after he turned, he pulled up to the sidewalk and parked the car so that Celeste wouldn't have any problems getting out.
"You can also let your friend know that she will be getting her dress back shortly. I wasn't exactly certain how to take care of it so I made sure that it went to the dry cleaner." He remembered as the other stepped out of the car. Rather than closing the door as he had expected her to do, she turned around and looked at him as though there was something else that she wanted to say.
"I don't want to honor the deal that we made last night since I don't remember it." She told her having made up her mind on that matter. She still wasn't sure though what exactly to think about the other part that he had just told her.
"I don't want to go to dinner with you either because I'm still not entirely sure what to think of you but I also don't believe that you lost to me. Thus I would rather call it a truce for now." Celeste said hurriedly before she closed the car door without waiting to hear what the alpha had to say in response to her words.
She knew that at a later point in time she would probably regret what she had just told him. There was something there however that told her it would be unfair to hold him to a deal that she hardly remembered making. More so also she would feel guilty over it considering he had been fairly civil to her even after he had taken her to his house while she was completely drunk.
Had it been anyone else, she wasn't certain that she would've been gotten off so lucky as she did with him. She was going to have to much more careful in the future to avoid such situations. She had a feeling though that fate wasn't going to allow her to keep avoiding Bane as much as she really wanted to.
Bane watched out of his side mirror as the little human hurriedly walked away from him. He had at least expected that he would've had a say in what she told him, but it seemed like she didn't want to give him a chance to reject what she said or try to bargain with her about what that type of situation meant.
For right now he was just going to have to be happy with the fact that he had gotten her to be spend the night with him even if she didn't quite remember agreeing to it or even getting there in the first place.
Of course his wolf wasn't happy with the arrangement because he could tell that his human side was still going to as much as he possible could to avoid the human. Even more so after the event that he was getting ready to take care of today. There were some thing that went on in his world that he knew most humans wouldn't be able to understand.
Once he was certain that Celeste had made it safely to where he apartment was, he put the car back into drive so that he could pull out and head in the direction of the important matter he needed to take care of that Aster had texted him about. This would at least give him something to release some of his anger on in a satisfying way.
Opening up his phone he went into his contacts so that he would be able to call the other while he was driving in the direction of where he knew the location was.
"There were things that I needed to take care of so I wasn't able to stay on the call for long early. Do catch me up though now that I am going to be heading that way. I want to be completely aware of what to expect when I get there. I assume you also contacted the other person who will be the most pleased to hear about this?" Bane clarified at the end, listening as Aster gave the report to him.
Indeed, this was going to be a good way to help get rid of some of the pent up energy and anger that he had stored up.
