41. Training

"Since it'll take some time until Reynard finish his homework, how about if you go shopping with me, Ann?" Julie asked with a grin.

Ann looked at Julie strangely. "There's no need for that, Miss Julie."

"Aww, that's too bad."

Her plan to get close to Ann to find out more about her younger brother at school failed miserable. Even though Julie wanted to know more, she would not push her luck and only tried it because she wanted to.

"Will you stay here for a long time?" Julie asked curiously.

Ann arched her eyebrows. She felt that these people were too enthusiastic about her. Based on their background family, it wouldn't be strange for them to do some background check on her. Even though she was confident that her cover up was flawless, she didn't have any intention of staying in this world for long.

They might find out there was something wrong with her if she got too close.

That would be too dangerous.

"I'll leave after training with Reynard."

"That brat really didn't deserve to be getting the attention of such a beautiful lady like you," Julius remarked from the side.

Almost instantly, there was a murderous aura in the room. Julius' face turned pale as he looked at his girlfriend. "Uh, wait, that's not…."

"Julius, how many times have I warned you to pay more attention to your speech?" Julie glared at her boyfriend. Before meeting her, he had gotten used to socialize with many other noble families. The result was that every single one of them would say that he was a good gentleman.

Yes, a good gentleman.

Or in other words: a playboy.

Ann blinked her eyes and chose to lower her eyes, pretending that she didn't exist. The number one golden rule when facing a couple was to pretend that they never existed to avoid being the third wheel.

"Are you good at training martial arts, Ann?" Zach asked, ignoring the couple that had started their war. Julie dragged Julius out to the room next door by pulling his ear and the poor Julius gave in to his girlfriend.

It was an image that would never be seen normally.

"Just so-so," Ann replied modestly.

"Is that so?"

Ann looked at the handsome yet dangerous man not far from her, wondering why Zach was so interested in her. It seemed as if he was probing to know more and at the same time, being careful to take care of the distance between the two of them.

She felt that she was treated like a fragile object for the first time in her life.

It was strange.

Bang!

The door opened with a loud voice and Reynard swaggered in. He looked like he had just endured a very harsh battle with how pale his face was. However, there was a big grin on his face.

"Master! I'm ready!"

"Ok, let's go to the training room." Ann stood up and dusted the nonexistent dust. Her movement was calm and composed. In fact, it looked as if she was the owner of this place rather than being a guest.

Reynard nodded his head repeatedly in excitement. He veered his gaze to look at Zach as his words stuck in his throat for some time. In the end, he managed to utter out. "Mr. Hein, are you going to follow too?"

Zach had stood up and walked behind Ann. His action seemed so natural that it was actually an eyesore for others. However, considering his status, Reynard really couldn't say anything to refute what he wanted to do.

He was too afraid.

"Yes, I think it's interesting."

Reynard: "…"
