6. Car.

''Alright... We will go...''

Luke sighed a relief hearing his parents' answer.

His parents quickly started making the preparations.

Luke and Emma went packing.

While Aeriel followed closely behind Luke.

Luke opened his door and let Aeriel in before closing the door.

Luke took below his bed a suitcase and started putting his clothes from the closet into his suitcase.

He didn't take anything electronic items, only clothes and a baseball bat he used to use in some fights, not something he was proud of.

But he was a Delinquent in High School.

He managed to pack everything needed in half an hour, he looked at the clock and saw that it was only 11.54 AM.

They could start making their journey towards the Rift today.

In the News, they talked about the rising criminal wave, which grows bigger each day, so they need to be careful while making their way over to the Rift.

Luke's gaze went towards the window, he looked at the sky and saw a lot of birds flying.

Luke didn't notice previously, but now he noticed a big increase of birds flying in the sky, it's like they are escaping something, he looked where they headed and saw that it was towards the direction of Rift...

'Are the animals leaving the planet as well...' Luke thought, not many perhaps noticed it, but animals perhaps find the Rift the safe place for them, to escape this upcoming apocalypse.

Aeriel currently was looking at the family pictures which included Luke, sweet smile made its way towards her beautiful face.

''What are you looking at?'' Aeriel heard a voice behind her, she saw Luke look at her with curiosity.

''Pictures of you,'' Aeriel said, but then her face dyed in the color of red.

Luke's mind went blank.

...But then Aeriel quickly waved her hand. ''I-I-I meant pictures of you and your family.''

''O-oh.''

Luke walked towards the pictures and saw him as a kid in those pictures, it was a time before he slowly became a worse son and brother.

Luke touched at the picture tenderly and put it down.

''Aren't you going to bring it with you?'' Aeriel asked.

Luke shook his head. ''Nah...''

Luke then walked out of his room with the suitcase and made his way downstairs.

...But inside of his room, Aeriel looked at the pictures, then with a quick wave of her hand, the pictures disappeared.

'Luke looks so cute in those pictures... If he doesn't want to take them... I will!' Aeriel pumped her chest in pride and walked out of the room.

Luke was the first one to finish his packing, he put his suitcase down and opened the TV.

He heard a News Reporter talk about the Visitor's message and about World Leader's Press Conference.

World Leaders talked about how the Visitors manipulate everyone, and they don't have any proof of the world getting destroyed.

'You guys don't have any proof that Rift is dangerous either...' Luke thought with a deadpan expression.

He closed the TV because it is waste of time listening at the News Stations that had been bought off to spread the World Leaders message.

Luke heard footsteps behind him and saw Aeriel appear behind him with a proud smile.

''Do you want to get something to eat?'' Luke asked her, he wasn't very sure how to talk to her.

He doesn't really know her, he doesn't even know are they friends.

Aeriel called him a friend when she met his parents, but she couldn't say that they were strangers and they met first time yesterday either.

So saying that she was his friend was the best solution at that moment.

Aeriel nodded gently.

Luke quickly grabbed a few water bottles and a few apples.

He gave her a water bottle and an apple.

''Thanks!'' Aeriel said with a huge smile.

''N-No problem,'' Luke said with embarrassment.

They started munching on their apples while waiting for his parents and sister to appear.

Sometime later they finally appeared, and all of them had huge suitcases, while Luke's suitcase is way smaller.

''Miss Aeriel, do we need to take you to your parents?'' Edward asked, he still couldn't properly look at her, because the beauty she possesses is dangerous, and he thought deeply about how his delinquent son could have such a friend.

Aeriel shook her head gently. ''No need, I will travel with Luke.''

''Won't your parents get worried?'' Sara asked worriedly.

''It might be hard to find them there if you don't go with them, no one knows what is on the other side,'' Edward said.

Aeriel shook her head. ''It's fine, I know how to take care of myself.''

Sara and Edward still weren't very convinced.

''Are we going to leave now?'' Luke asked anxiously.

Edward sighed and nodded. ''Let's go.''

Luke sighed a relief, who knows how long the journey to the rift lasts, perhaps they can't even go by car all the way.

Sara, Edward, and Emma were the first ones to leave the house and pack the car, leaving Luke and Aeriel in the house.

''What will the Representatives do now?'' Luke asked curiously.

Aeriel thought for a moment, then with her sweet voice, she said. ''They will leave the Earth before the black hole comes, until then, they will try to save as many as they can.''

Luke nodded. ''In some places of the world, there isn't a TV or internet and they might not be aware of danger approaching.''

''Avery and the rest will travel the world which will take few days,'' Aeriel mentioned.

Luke nodded and walked out of the house with Aeriel.

Luke put his suitcase in the car and sat down on the backseats with Aeriel.

''Don't you have a suitcase with you?'' Sara asked from Aeriel.

Aeriel shook her head. ''My parents will take care of that.''

Sara nodded.

Edward started driving the car towards the gate which leads to the neighborhood.

Luke and Aeriel were currently sitting next to each other and their legs were touching each other.

...But such a simple act caused both of them to have huge blushes.

'Deep breaths Luke, even if you are a virgin, to get excited by just touching her leg is a very simp move!' Luke thought to himself anxiously while trying to calm his emotions.

'KYAA! Don't pass out, he might think you are weird!' Aeriel thought with panic, she used her Camouflage Magic to hide her huge blush.

Luke looked at her and saw her sitting calmly, while he was panicking.

'Does she think I am weird now, she definitely does... getting excited when our legs touched... I am so pathetic!' Luke tries to get rid of his excitement.

Luke then felt Aeriel tremble, and he saw her being slightly pale while trying to sit properly.

''First time in the car?'' Luke whispered to her.

She nodded and tried to sit straight, but couldn't.

Then Edward drove out of the neighborhood, he drove through a speed bump which caused Aeriel to lean on Luke.

She quickly grabbed his arm and closed her eyes.

'DEEP BREATHS!' Luke screamed internally.

The car reached the streets and they started driving smoothly on the road.

'Whew, that was scary.' Aeriel thought with a slightly pale face, but then she noticed her position.

She was grabbing Luke's arm so tightly that it was surprising that his arm wasn't broken.

'KYAAA!' Aeriel screamed internally. 'I should let go otherwise he might think I am a weird girl! But it's so comfy... He is so warm... But if I don't let go, then I don't have any excuses to keep holding his arm!!!'

While Aeriel was having a battle on her mind.

*Cough*

Luke coughed out of embarrassment. ''U-Uh, can you let me go?''

'I CAN'T HANDLE MORE BEFORE I PASS OUT!' Luke thought anxiously

Aeriel quickly let go and used her Camouflage Magic to completely hide her expression. 'He thinks I am a weird girl! My life is over!' She almost started crying.

...But then Luke said. ''Car rides can be quite scary, even I was quite intimidated at one point.''

Aeriel with her camouflage magic still on turned her head towards him.

''Yes... Sorry for making such an embarrassing scene...'' She quietly muttered.

''It's alright, it wasn't embarrassing, in fact, it was very cute!'' Luke said with a smile but inside his mind...

'WHY DID I SAY SUCH A THING, I AM MORON!'

'KYAAA!' Aeriel had to use again Camouflage Magic to hide her huge smile.

''C-Can I hold your arm for this ride... It's pretty scary...'' She looked at him with teary eyes.

Luke screamed internally. 'YES, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, but I don't think I can handle it... Even that last time was pure torture, I almost passed out which would make her definitely hate me!'

Luke was about to decline so his mental condition can stay sane, but then he saw her teary eyes and he unconsciously nodded.

Aeriel sweetly smiled and grabbed his arm and leaned her head on his shoulder.

'YES!' Aeriel screamed happily.

'I AM DYING!' Luke screamed inside his mind, the car journey might take close to 10 hours... On other hand, Luke had a hard time hiding his smile, but the other side was trying to stay calm and not to pass out.
