Chapter fourteen 014: TRIALS

Adria got back home, entering her house she went straight to her bathroom as she took of her clothes and she entered the bathtub, she began to her a lot of noise like she usually do.

"What the f*ck is wrong with the people leaving here, they tend to disturb my peace a lot." She said feeling pissed.

She took her bath and while cleaning her body she heard a baby crying it sounded so familiar like ....shit Akio.

Adria dashed to her door as she opened akio was on the floor crying she looked around and saw no one was there she took him inside as she asked "what's wrong stop crying akio I'm here, what's wrong."

Akio kept crying while pointing at the door saying "ma ma."

"You want to see your mommy?." Adria asked as she cleaned his eyes. She went to her room and dressed up, she realized the noise from the bathroom became more audible but she paid less attention to it due to the fact her attention was only on the crying baby.

This was it she's going to really give Yan Chen a piece of her mind she thought as she got dressed and called Haru (her driver).

She asked him to take care of the baby while she looked for the mother as she turned to give him some instruction she heard a loud bang and some shouts outside her door, she instructed Haru to stay put as she picked up a hockey stick incase it was a thief, she went to see what was going on.

She came out but she saw nobody so she kept following the voice, she began to run when the voice began to become distant she got to a point and she saw few drop of blood she advanced to the apartment at the back of hers when she got there she saw the door was a bit open so she pushed the door and entered inside only to freeze at what she saw.

Yan Chen was being pulled by the hair while struggling to be free, she was bleeding from her nose and mouth crying helplessly.

Adria eyes began to hurt as a similar event flashed through her eyes her mom.

Adria looked over at yan Chen who was calling to her for help but all she could see was her mother wailing in pain just like when she was little and helpless she recalled all the pain she could see in her mom's eyes back then, she began to tremble as panic hit her. Her eyes turned red due to the tears she sheared it felt like she was reliving the her past she crawled to the chair behind as she hugged her knees painful memories of the past clouded her sight she began to cry "Make it stop please." she whispered.

Yan Chen's husband left her seeing Adria he began to approach her Yan Chen screamed shaking Adria from her psychological trauma.

Adria stood up immediately and looked at the man approaching her picturing her mom in that position Yan Chen was she used the hockey stick to hit the man in the head, his eyes turned as pain went through his head.

Adria kept hitting him. "you stupid bitch." he roared as he held her by the neck Adria hit his stomach and back pinned him hitting his head on the ground harshly he fell unconscious and Adria's eyes widened with the thought of killing someone the whole place grew silent.

"What have you done that was my husband!." Yan Chen screamed as fear filled her.

Adria stood up leaving the hockey stick she staggered towards her own apartment as fear filled her she pushed the door open and fell to the floor.

Asachi who came to see her few minutes ago and Haru were shocked, they hurriedly approach her.

Asachi held her tightly "Adria! Adria!." He screamed.

Haru hurried to the kitchen to get water as he poured water on her face he checked her breathing and assured Asachi "She's breathing that means she passed out." they carried her to the sofa and placed a fan in front of her.

After a while she regained consciousness as she began to cry. "I just.....I just." She stammered.

"Speak Adria what's wrong." Asachi said as he got worried.

"I just killed someone." she said as she sobbed.

Asachi was shocked but held her tightly.

Haru went to check out what Adria said when he got there, he saw Yan Chen crying as she tried to wake the lifeless man seeing Yan Chen he already knew why Adria did what she did even if it wasn't intentional he approached the man and checked for his pulse he noticed the man was still breathing that means he was only unconscious he picked up his phone and called the ambulance he went back to his boss and informed her. The ambulance arrived and took the man to the hospital.

Adria felt better knowing she had not killed anyone, Asachi didn't let her go as he pat her head patiently waiting for her to fall asleep, she eventually slept Asachi took her to her bedroom as he laid her on her bed staring at her for a while before he stood up and went down stairs and met the babies mother yan Chen holding her baby tightly as she sat on the sofa, he could still see trace of blood on her nose and mouth.

He approached haru and they discussed for a while, he passed the message he came to pass and left while walking down to his house he kept recalling the good times he has shared with Adria and then the scene of tonight flashed in his eyes why was I so scared, why does the world seem to stop when they were together why was I so worried he shock off the thought as he went straight home.

Adria woke up few hours later she looked around and the previous events flashed in her eyes, she stood up immediately and went to check on akio reaching there she saw yan Chen hugging him tightly.

When Yan Chen saw Adria she dropped akio and ran towards her as she knelt down and began to apologize.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I screamed at you when all you were doing was to help me."she said as she cried.

Adria raised her up as she shook her head "no don't do that your like a family now."

Yan Chen looked down on her hands "I'm sorry I didn't speak up earlier." she said as she felt a sting of regret.

Adria hugged her soothing her back "it's fine, you don't have to put up with him anymore ok."

Haru called Berlina and gave her a brief explanation from what he saw after their conversation Berlina called Adria and they spoke for a while, Berlina wasn't really happy about what happened but she had to understand the situation.

She coaxed her sister on phone, she had a lot doing so the call didn't last too long but she ensured Adria was ok before she left.
