Liv.
I sat infront of a sewing machine, sewing the dress neatly. I loved designing cloths, but making them was something I adored. Its almost like making a dream come to reality. That's why when Sheila asked if I could lend a hand, I jumped straight into action. We're about 10 people working on different pieces. Sheila was by my table helping me cut through the material I was using and discuss some new changes to the gown. So far it looked amazing with the upper half almost done.
I saw Tania walk to my table a few minutes after she had arrived. The entrance to the warehouse was made in such a way that whoever enters the place can be seen by the employees working down. The slab after the entrance covered a quarter of the big room with two offices. One Tania's and the other Sheila's. After the slab you come to a flight of stairs descending to the open space where all the designing and creating took place.
Back to Tania, I wonder what chaos she is about brew this time.
" I didn't expect to see you here, Liv." She said with enough sarcasm. " I thought you were the magnificent CEO in training." She folded her arms infront of her chest as she spoke.
"Magnificent?" I scoffed under my breath. She really had nothing better to do.
" Tania how about you head to your office and work on the paperwork. Am sure Damnon will need a full report by later today." Sheila suggested to her. His smile clearly showing that her presence and circus was not desired. But Tania being Tania wasn't planning on doing so anytime soon.
" Ain't you my assistant?, you should be doing the work too." Tania fired back. She really had a talent of annoying people.
" Yesterday I did all the reports and-"
" You let our designs slip into a competitor's hands. How hardworking." Tania finished Sheila's sentence which wasn't what he was going to say. I didn't know some designs were lost!. I looked at Sheila with a questioning look.
" I know you stole those files, Sheila. intentionally if I may add and before we knew it, they were on the magazine with a different brand name."
" Tania I didn't steal those files. Someone snitched on us." Sheila defended himself.
" And you expect me to believe you, I would have fired you if I were boss, unlike others." Tania scoffed moving her brown eyes on me.
" But you ain't, so bye. Could you atleast let us work instead of causing trouble." Sheila sighed as he said this. Unfortunately Tania came in ready to annoy everyone. Well me to be exact but I wasn't going to give her that satisfaction. Thank goodness Sheila was here to talk back at her.
" You know what?, I have a much better idea." Her evil smile well curved on her lips. " I will stay right here and help dear Liv finish up with the gown and you can go get the paperwork ready for Damnon later today." Tania said to Sheila.
" Actually am fine doing this work all by myself." I finally chimed in but Tania ignored me again.
" Sheila, office, now" she ordered. Even if Tania wasn't my boss, she was Sheila's, and he had to comply. One looked at me and I nodded back at him. He reluctantly left knowing exactly why Tania wanted him gone. She wanted to torture me when he was gone and couldn't defend me.
" So where are we?" She asked as she walked to fill in Sheila's initial position. The rest of the workers at the place sat quietly at their tables working on their designs. And watching from the corner of their eyes.
" Tania you don't need to bother yourself" I said to her but she still ignored me anyway and went ahead to touch the piece we were working on. " Tania stop-" I tried to stop her when...
" Ouch!!" She cried throwing the piece back on the table. I had totally forgotten that there was a huge needle stuck in the dress. Blood ran down her finger from the wound the needle created. I quickly got some tissue from my purse and grabbed her hand quickly, putting pressure on the small wound stopping the blood from oozing out more. " I don't need your help" she took her hand away from my loose grip. " I don't need your pity." She added strongly before walking out of the place.
" Just trying to help." I mumbled to myself before seating back and continuing to work. The whole day, went without any more of Tania's stunts.
When 4pm reached, I had finished three quarters of the gown. It looked marvelous on the dummy I had dressed. I moved a distance away from it to capture the view.
" Girl that is one beautiful gown." Sarah one of the designers admired the dress. She took a few steps close to look at the dress more close up.
" I feel beautiful is an understatement." Another commented as she held her chin thoughtfully while gauging the gown.
" You got some skills up your sleeves" Sarah said again and threw me a brief look.
" I got the skill from my grandma, she was amazing when it came to design. Am nothing compared to her." I gave all gratitude to my dear late grandma. She was a star when it came to this.
" If you say she was better than you, I can only imagine the kind of dresses she used designed." The lady standing next to Sarah said. She and Sarah looked alot alike. If one didn't take keen note of their appearance they would mistake them for twins.
" Wow!" I heard Sheila's voice come from the slab upstairs. He stood there looking at all of us adore the half made dress the dummy proudly wore. " That is much better than the sketch we drew." He commented as he walked down the small stairs. Unfortunately,
" Sheila?" Tania's sharp voice called from one of the offices along the slab Sheila was from. Sheila halted his tracks and he closed his eyes in annoyance. We all gave him the 'we know' look to show him we understood his state. " Sheila am calling youuu-" Tania's words stopped on her throat as she stood on the railings looking at the gown the dummy wore. I could see the glimmer in her eyes as she fed them the sight.
" I have the file here." Sheila walked up to her with the file in his hands. Tania stole her gaze from the dress and turned to look at Sheila.
" You will show them to me in the office." She said softly this time, asif her voice she used seconds ago was gone. Sheila just rolled his eyes as he walked to the office.
" And Liv, Sabastian is waiting to take you home. You should leave now." She said as looked down at me from where she stood. One more glance at the dress and she disappeared into her office through its door.
" I wonder how Sheila will live if she keeps up that attitude of hers." Sarah said in a voice only we down could hear.
" Sarah? She will hear you!" her look alike warned.
" Liv, Miss Crona is going to love this dress alot more." Sarah said to me ignoring the other lady's comment.
" Well that's what we want right?" I said smiling at them and they all nodded their heads in agreement.
After clearing my table, I walked out of the workshop and went straight to the elevator which took me down to the Lobby. I was exhausted and alittle hungry.
When I reached the parking lot, I found Damnon standing by his car and Sabastian was nowhere to be found. My body teased up abit knowing we were only two there.
" Where is Sabastian?" I asked him and gave him a suspicious look. He smiled at my question which made me feel less tense.
" Well since Tania is still struggling with paperwork, I couldn't wait. So I asked Sabastian to wait collect the file from her. And since that would take some time, I decided I would drop you off instead." He explained.
" You are starting to get used to dropping me home." I cautioned him. " Don't you think that's alittle too much."
" Well if you don't want my good gesture, I could always just let you wait here for your peaceful ride with Tania back home." He said
" Alright let's go." I agreed knowing exactly they kind of air that lingered with the lady named Tania. God! she was annoying. Damnon laughed to my reaction and opened for me the door. I settled in and he shut the door afterwards.
Crossing to his side. He opened and entered in too.
" Should I get some potato chips along the way?" He asked. That reminded me of our first ride. And how nervous I was.
" Yes please. That would be great." I agreed. Today was a busy day and I was hungry even though I had lunch. Damnon had bought my favorite chips the day I was extremely nervous around him, it worsen my chill thinking the guy must have.... Well I don't know exactly.
When we joined the road and started the journey to the Williams residence. I looked out the window trying to study the street we were using.
" I barely saw you today, where were you?" He asked me. Dispersing the comfortable silence in the car.
